INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF STUDY
The researcher tends to conduct this research to
find out the effectivenes s in using the colored
picture strategy to improve student’s vocabulary
mastery.

And, most of the students still find problems in


using it, because of their limited mastery,
especially in momories and learning new
vocabularies.
• RESEARCH QUESTION
How effective is The Use of Colored Picture Method toward
Student’s Vocabulary Mastery?

• THE PURPOSE
This research is going to find how the effective is
teaching Vocabulary through Colored Picture method
against students on the seventh grade of SMPN 2
Pontianak in the academic year 2017/2018.
• THE SIGNIFICANCE
 Theoretical Significances
For theoretically purpose it can act as an additional
knowledge for further research that can be done in
the future by other researcher.

 Practical Significances
For Practical purpose this research have a lot of great
benefits for the teacher in SMPN 2 Pontianak in terms
of adding information of uplifting the student’s interest
and their understanding in reading English
vocabulary especially in colored vocabulary mastery.
SCOPE OF RESEARCH
THE VARIABLES:
• Independent variable: Colored Picture.
• Dependent variable: Student’s Vocabulary
Mastery.

 A Quantitative Pre-Experimental Design of one
group pre-test and post-test

– Population: Students SMPN 2 Pontianak
– Sample: Class VII
– Sampling Technique: Convenience Sampling (Cohen,
Manion And Morrison 2007, P.113-114)

measure will be implemented to assess the
data from the instrument

The Procedures of Research
• The first step is the researcher will give the
pre-test to the students.
• The next is giving treatment.
• Posttest will be held after all the treatment
activitty conducted.
