• The Educational technology has great
importance in a thickly populated
country like India where mass
education is in great demand with
limited resources. Educational
technology is a major requisite for
formal, informal as well as for non-
formal mode of teaching-learning. The
needs of Educational Technology are
discussed hereunder;
1) Radio as a media of educational
technology broadcasts educational
programme throughout the country.
Education programmes include local
needs; adult education etc can be
broadcasted through radio.
2) Television as a media of education
telecasts different lessons and educational
programmes related to formal and non-formal
education in the country. Various types of
scientific innovation; discoveries, strangers of
wildlife and various fields of knowledge are
generally bringing forward to the masses
through television.
3) Educational technology is concerned with the
high demand of
training a retraining- the school and college teachers
economically
and effectively. Educational technology serves the
purpose of in
service teacher training course through mass- media;
the multi-media package.
4) Distance education method of our country mostly
follows the
technique of educational technology. It uses the
collaboration of
media for instructional purpose. It provides the facilities
at any time and at any place and for all persons .
6) Audio-visual aids are considered as effective media for
teaching and learning. These are the products of educational
technology.
7) Educational Technology renders immense help in the teaching
and learning of languages. Present audiocassette, audio CD etc.
help in improving and removal of errors in voice. Devices like
linguaphone, DVD are giving training for spoken languages.

TECHNOLOGY IMPORTANT ?

education system. Using communication technologies to
share and receive information creates an engaging
environment that promotes effective teaching and
learning. Various applications that support internet
learning have made instructors’ work more accessible
and better than ever because they can easily interact
with their students and share knowledge through digital
media.
