Part 2

Scholastic
Performance
Academically,
these children
are poor to
average in
studies.
Basically…

these
children

have no
interest
They do not
want to study
or put any efforts…
…and yet they
cannot accept
failure.
In order to pass their exams
these children resort to…
• Copying,
• Snatching other children’s paper,
• Taking chits to exam halls etc.
They forget
what to
write in the
exams…
… out of
confusion or
anxiety as
to how they
will perform.
Their
memory
is weak…
for Alphabets,
for
Words,
for
Reading,
for
Counting etc.
There is
marked
poverty of
thoughts,
logic and
rationality.
They have a difficulty
in remembering
what they have
studied…
…and make

mistakes
all the time.
Their mind just does
not seem to work…
and hence these children
like doing home work
which is repetitive.
Sycotic children bring a
lot of complaints from
school regarding
• Studies
• Behavior
• Attention
• Play etc.
Emotional
Pattern…

Negative
Emotions
They are easily moved to
Anger, Rage, Hurt,
Irritability,
Jealousy and
Suspiciousness.
Children are easily
angered or irritated
without any
reason…
…and they
find it very
difficult to
express
these
emotions.
Instead,
they keep
on thinking
about such
incidents.
If somebody
scolds them,
they will not
weep or show
any emotions
(like most
children do)
Instead, they develop
hatred towards that
person … be it his
parents or closest
friends who has
hurt them.
Scheming and Planning
They will then
keep making
plans and
schemes
so as to take
revenge.
Forgive and forget
is not the policy
of sycotic children.
Brooding…
Sycotic children keep on
internalizing their
emotions all the time.
There is a constant bottling up of
negative emotions
within them
which…

… keeps on
troubling them
all the time.
They brood
over past
instances +++
… which
is a very
important
feature of
this miasm.
Anxiety :

Sycotic children
are very anxious
in nature +++
The anxiety is either of the
• Agitational
• Anticipatory or
• Depressive types.
Agitational Anxiety :
This will be
reflected in the
Sycotic child in
the following
manner …
The child is
extremely restless.
He cannot sit in
one place for a long time.
The child is unable to
finish a given project.
He does a
particular thing
for some time,
gets bored or
distracted…
… leaves it half done,
proceeds to another lesson,
barely completes
it a bit,
leaves it
and so on.
Anxiety
is often seen in their
reluctance to appear for exams
without any reason and
later on they will develop
anxiety about whether they will
pass or fail in their exams.
Their anxiety is so
marked that they
develop physical
symptoms like
sweating,
palpitations,
diarrhoea, etc.
Anticipatory Anxiety :

This type of anxiety is

due to certain fears
and fixed ideas.

This is reflected in
the following ways…
The child will
have anticipatory
anxiety if he has to
reach a particular place
on a particular time.
He will
leave his
house much
earlier than
he should…
…and
reach the
place much
earlier than
scheduled
time.
The child displays anxiety
when meeting new
people or before a
stage performance
though she may
have performed
many times
in the past.
The child has a lot of anxiety
if he has to even switch
on a basic
equipment.
He starts imagining
all sorts of mishaps
and is unable
to do the
needful.
Depressive Anxiety…
The Sycotic child
has a lot of
negative
thoughts
about life…
…and thus goes
through
depressive
phases.
A patient
may have
a simple
fever and…
…has
delusions of
heart being
trapped etc…
…as the child complains, parents
go from pillar to post getting
hundreds of investigations done.
He imagines
he is gravely ill
from which he
will not recover
and will die…
…and predicts
the time of his
death.
The child
imagines that
even a slight
injury will
never heal,
… and gets
pre-occupied
with it.
They are true hypochondriacs
who develop all sorts of fixed
ideas about their
body and health.
They think they
are as fragile as
glass …
…a typical
Thuja state.
Fear…
This anxious
state often
makes them
fearful of
everything
around them…
…they develop
marked fear of
being alone,
of dark,
of meeting
people etc.
of failures
Dreams…
Young children
are restless,
weep suddenly,
get frightened
at night, have
enuresis etc.
because of
anxious and
frightful
dreams,
they dream of
falling from
heights,
of missing
a train,
of missing
achievement,
failures, etc.
of death.
