3.2 Characteristics of
Enzymes
3.2.1 describe characteristics of enzymes;

 All enzymes are globular protein.

 They speed up the chemical reaction without themselves being
used up.
 Small amount of enzyme can accelerate the reaction.
 They are very specific to their actions, single enzyme can
catalyse a single chemical reaction.
 They are sensitive to even a minor change in temperature , ph or
substrate.
 They lower the activation of energy of a reaction.
