RESEACH TITLE

Preferences of Parents in Choosing Courses and Its

Effects to the Students
GENERAL PROBLEM

The study aims to explore the dynamics of parental

influence in this process and the factors that shape parental
decision-making. Additionally, the research seeks to identify
the potential effects of parental influence on their children's
academic and career trajectories and the ethical
implications of this influence. Understanding the complex
and multifaceted nature of parental influence on higher
education decision-making can contribute to the
development of policies and programs that support students'
autonomy and ensure equitable access to educational
opportunities.
SPECIFIC PROBLEM
1. What influences the parents to pressure their own child into choosing what they
prefer for their own child’s college course?

2. How can a parent decision affect their own child’s overall perspective by forcing
them and how would it affect their future career and their life’s outcome?

3. What factors does a students need to overcome to have their own free-will in
choosing their own desired college course?

4. At what extent does a parent need to be present in and what boundaries do they
have to follow to be able to have their child choose their own college course
where they’re satisfied and happy with?
