 Women’s Doubles - a match format similar to Men’s Doubles,
consisting of two female players per team.
 Mixed Doubles - a match format involving a male and a female
player on each team.
Why isn’t there mixed singles in Badminton as an official category?
 Mixed singles is not considered an official category in badminton because the
sport traditionally emphasizes gender-based divisions for singles and doubles
events.
 The decision to separate men's and women's events is primarily based on
physiological differences and performance disparities between genders.
 By maintaining separate categories, badminton aims to provide fair and
competitive opportunities for both male and female athletes, acknowledging
the physical advantages that may exist within specific gender groups.
Scoring
Terms

Scoring Terms in Badminton:

1. Love - means 0. The game starts with the scoring of Love all which
means 0-0
2. Deuce - During a general game of 21 points, when both players have
reached 20-20, it is termed as deuce. From here the player to score 2
straight points wins the match.
3. Advantage - if there is a point where the players are at deuce, whoever
wins the next point is said to have the advantage. There are two things
that can follow, either the person with advantage wins the next point
and wins the game or can lose the point and again it becomes deuce for
the players.
