MATERIALS
Instructional materials are those
materials used by a teacher to simplify
their teaching. They include both visual
and audio-visual aids and could either
be concrete or non-concrete. These
instructional materials bring life to
learning by stimulating students to
learn.
There are several factors to consider in
developing instructional materials
factors
1.Develop s story board and working
ouebtline based on the subject goals
and objectives.
2. Identify existing instructional
resources including materials and
teachers capacity.
3.The teacher may research shelf
materials that have been develop by
others to determine if their approach
could be useful.
4. Explain the posssibility of adapting
concepts of the other teachers without
infringing on anyone’scopy protected
design.
5. Modify existing materials based on
the objectives of the lesson.
6.If the instructional materials are
effective ,you can share item with other
teacher.
7.The teacher can developer can sell
her materials available.

1. DIORAMA-a model representing a scene
with three-dimensional figures, either in miniature
or as a large-scale museum exhibit.

Dioramas are often built by hobbyists as part of

related hobbies such as military vehicle modeling,
miniature figure modeling, or aircraft modeling.
NATURE TABLE
A table on which items collected from
nature, such as seeds, rocks, birds' nests,
etc., are displayed in order to teach
children about the natural world.
WRITING BOARD
can be display information with chalk
Suggestions on using the writing board
1. keep board clean
2. use chalk or pens that contrast with
background of the board
3.Make text and drawings large enough to be
seen from the back of the room.
4. prepare complex drawings in advanceor
35mm slide may be preferred.
5. Do not talk while facing the board.
6. Do not block the students views of the
board: stand aside when writing or drawing.
FLIP CHART
-It is a large tables or pad usually tripod
or stand.
1. use wide tipped or markers ,makers
with narrow tips procedure printing that
is difficult to read.
2. Print in block letters that are large
enough to be read easily from thr back
room.
3.Use different colored pens to provide contrast ,this
make pages visually attractive and easier to read.
4.Use heading, boxes ,cartoons and borders to
improve the appearance of the pages.
5.Use bullets to delineate items on the page.
6.leave plenty of white space and avoid putting too
much information on one page.
7.When pages are prepared in advance ,use every
other page.if every page is used, color will show
through and make text difficult to read
8.Have making tape available to put
pages up around the room during
brainstorming and problem.
9.To hide a portion of the page ,fold up
the lower portion of the page and tape
it.
10.Face the student ,not the flipchart
5. ZIGZAG BOARD -It is a multi-board
series of three or four rectangular
boards. They are joined together along
the sides by hinges so that they can be
easily folded up and carried. Each board
can be of a different type, for example,

WALL DISPLAY
Learning walls are visual classroom
displays focused on the class's learning
intentions. They are intended to
facilitate the student's learning process
and likewise evolve throughout the
school year. Teachers can implement
learning walls in a variety of ways to
help students and make things fun for
the classroom.
This board consists of two parallel,
horizontal poles tied loosely together
with rope. Visual aids such as posters
can be pinned to the rope. This kind of
display board is invaluable where there
are few solid walls for displaying
information.
Guideliness when designing conventional
instructional materials
1.Unity- use only one idea for each visual aid and
include the headline
2 .Simplicity –make the ideas and relationship
simple and easy.
3.Legibility- make letter big, and readable for all
audience
4.consistency- use type style and art style
5.clarity- avoid type that is too small to read ,avoid
all caps
