WEATHER RESISTANCE OF

CORN STALK AND SISAL

FIBER AS A MATERIAL FOR

Franz Kristoffer Y. Valdenarro
RATIONALE
This research aims to explore the potential of
Weather Resistance of Corn stalk and Sisal
fiber as a material for reinforced brick
exposed to natural and accelerated Conditions.

Natural fibers are utilized as reinforcement in

composites (such as cement paste, mortar, and
concrete) in the construction industry because
they are cost-effective in increasing tensile
strength, shear strength, toughness, and
energy absorption capacity. Natural fiber
composites provide a number of benefits over
synthetic fiber composites, including cheap
cost, being lightweight, high specific
mechanical characteristics, nonhazardous
nature, eco-friendliness, renewability, and so
on.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
STUDY
This research study is significant as it aims to enhanced strength
and stiffness. Natural fibers are an environmentally beneficial
alternative to artificial fibers when used as secondary
reinforcement in concrete. Fibers are tiny, discrete reinforcement
materials created from a variety of materials, natural as well as
artificial, and they come in a variety of forms and sizes. Corn stalk
and Sisal is one of several natural fibers that have proven to show
significant promise throughout time; it has several beneficial
features, including sustainability, great tensile stain, and cheap
cost. Natural fiber composites provide a number of benefits over
synthetic fiber composites, including cheap cost, being lightweight,
high specific mechanical characteristics, nonhazardous nature, eco-
friendliness, renewability, and so on. This research can also
develop and improve the physical properties in terms of potential
strength and resistant from heat and water of reinforced bricks.
