MAKING AND SEPARTATING

MIXTURES

SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

GROUP: 5° A
MIX 1. ROCKS AND FLOUR

 Steps: we add stones and flour in a container


 Observations we try to mix the flour and the rocks but they do not mix.
 Characteristics: the rocks and flour separate.
MIX 2. SALT AND ROCKS

 Steps: add salt and rocks in a bowl.


 We try to mix the salt and the rocks and they do not mix them
 Characteristics: salt and rocks separate
MIX 3. OIL AND WATER

 Steps: add oil and water to a container, we use a spoon to mix them.
 Observations: The substances are separated in the lower part the water remains
and the upperpart the oil remains.
 Characteristics: Water and oil cannot mix.
MIX 4. FLOUR AND WATER

 Steps: add flour and water in a bowl.


 Observations: The flour dissolves in water.
 Characteristics: The water is now white.
MIX 5. SALT AND WATER

 Steps: add salt and water in a container.


 Observations: the salt dissolves in water.
 Characteristics: the salt makes the water look
distorted. Yes they can be mixed
Conclusion

 It was fantastic to do these mixes, I learned new things about mixing


substances. Some substances mix with each other and others do not.
 Water purifier we can see that the water came back completely
transparent.
