Why Should You Report?

• As an employee you have a legal duty to do so.
• If something’s going wrong, we need to
investigate – we can’t if we don’t know about
it!
• We need to inform the right people – e.g. our
insurers.
• You’ll have trouble claiming any compensation
you’re due if there’s no record of your injury.

What - Even Minor Cuts and Near Misses?

• Yes – sometimes a minor injury can turn into
something more serious later.
• Yes – sometimes the things that caused a
minor injury this time (or just a near miss)
could cause a really serious injury another
time – often the difference is just luck.
• Remember – we can’t deal with it unless we
know about it.
