THEORETICAL BASIS

Classroom assessment in a joint


process that involve both teacher and
learners. it is an itegral part of teaching
and learning.
Assessment
 is aprocess that is used to keep track of learners progress
in realtion to learning standards and in the development of
21st century skils to promote self-reflection and personal
accountability.
Classroom Assessment
 is an ongoing process of identifying gathering, organizing,
and interpreting, quantitative and qualitatitve information
about what learners know and can do.

D. Concept Development
the learning standards in the curriculum reflect
progression of concept development.
the cognitive dimension adapted from Anderson and
Krathwohl (2001)
may be a good way to operationalize these progression.
How are learners assessed in the classroom?

• learners are assessed in the classroom through various


processes and measures appropriate to and congruent
withlearning competencies defines k to 12 curriculum.

Formative Assessment
• can be given before the lesson, during the lesson proper
and after the lesson.
 individual formative assessment- includes check-up,
quizzes, written exercise, performance, models, and even
electronic presentation.
 Collaborative foramative assessment (peer assessment)
- includes discussion, role playing, games, and other group
activity.
Summative assessment- it is usually conducted after a unit
of work and/or at the end of and entire quarter.
 individual summative assessment- includes unit tests and
quarterly test.
 collaborative summative asseesment- includes learners
participation in group activities in which they cooperate to
prroduce evidence of their learning.
Components of summative assessment ( bases
for grading)

1. Written work component- ensure that the student are


able to express their skills and concept in written form.
2. Performance task component - allow learners to show
what they know and are able to do in diverse ways.
3. Quarterly assessment component- measure students
learning at the end of the quarter.
