Introduction

 CEP Motor is coupled with Vertical Mixed Flow Pumps, which take suction from the hot-
well of Steam Turbine Condenser and transfer it mainly to the Feedwater tank.

 CEP motor is three phase induction 240KW motor which is operating at 6KV voltage,
Motor is vertical Flange mounted.

 There are 2 condensate extraction motors are installed, out of which 1 motor remains in
service while other remain on standby condition

Objective
 CEP Motor-B overhauling was previously perform in
 2016

 2019

Overhauling is due to completion of 3 years

 In 2021, motor vibration at “H” direction on NDE side was increasing slowly and gradually but it was
under allowable range.

 MM team decided to perform weight balancing and pump support under the recommendation of
Korea TA.
 By applying turn buckle support against motor on both sides along with 27g weight on motor fan
vane #12, both the motor and pump shaft vibration become normal under Load test. 6

12 Remove DE side bearings housing, DE bearing by using jack and puller
                   
                 
14 Perform inspection of rotor, stator winding and its wedges
                   
                   
16 Measure DE/NDE bearing housing and shaft diameters
                   
                   
17 Cleaning housing and accessories
                   
                   
18 Install DE bearing and its accessories
                   
                   
19 Install NDE bearing and its accessories
                   
                   
20 Shift to its base and tighten the base bolt
                   
                   
21 Measure insulation and winding resistances of Motor
                   
                   
22 Reconnect power cable, Space heater and install instruments
                   
                   
23 Perform Motor solo run test after overhauling, measure current, vibrations for future record
                   
                   
24 Perform coupling of Motor with Pump
