A personal blog is about the person who runs the blog. A personal blog is very
different from the other types of blogs because it contains opinions and beliefs
of the blogger.
2. Business Blog
A business blog contains content focused on an area of specialty to attract the
attention of potential clients.
3. Affiliate Blogs
An affiliate blog is a blog that posts content promoting other products and
services. The blog owner typically writes product reviews or tutorials and
includes a link for the reader to buy the product or service.
4. Niche Blog
Niche bloggers focus their content on a very specific subset of a larger topic.
They solve a particular problem and have a specific audience.
5. News Blog
A news blog is the most intense type of blog to create. News blogs are more
formal than other types of blogs
Conventions of a blog:

1. Direct address to the audience(s), including

other bloggers or those who have posted
responses.
2. Self-referential nature (‘In my last blog…’) and
use of personal pronouns (I, me).
3. Individual blogs often use self-contained text. In
other words, they may function as a short essay
upon a theme, much like newspaper articles.
4. A blog must always be dynamic.
5. The inclusion of visuals and use of other media,
which may affect language choice.
6. Use headings.

POINT: USE OF PRONOUNS
“I”, “ME”, “OUR”
The author uses pronouns “I”, “my”, “our”
throughout the text. For example in sentences,
such us “my mother and I decided to leave
aside the classic Christmas”. As we can see
writer uses personal pronouns in sentences, in
which she talks about her own experience. Also
author uses “I”, “me” and “our” pronouns to
share her emotions. This is probably to make
the blog more personal, because one of the
purposes of blog is to share information and
feelings.

POINT: USE OF SPECIFIC
LANGUAGE, which suitable for the
blog idea
The writer uses specific language in her text. For
example in one sentence “and to follow the “no-
waste” philosophy that emphasizes recycling, trying
to give a second life to many objects and materials
that would be a shame to throw away” she mention
“no-waste” philosophy, which connected to the main
idea of author’s blog- minimalistic Christmas. The
writer uses language that is related to main idea of
the text to emphasize her topic and information
which she wants to convey to the reader.
POINT: USE OF SHORT
PARAGRAPHS
The writer uses short paragraphs throughout the blog.

The author uses short paragraphs because less text keeps readers’

attention. Content that is broken up into more digestible groups of
sentences keeps readers engaged, short paragraphs have a dramatic
effect. Short paragraphs are more readable on a screen. 
POINT: USING LONG SENTENCES AS WAYS
OF TRANSMISSION OF THE AUTHOR'S
THOUGHTS
The author uses long sentences in her text: “It was satisfying to
think deeply about the person who would receive give the gifts—
their characteristics, style, passions, and the phase of life they
were in—and then choose from all the materials that could
represent that individual ”. Here she uses longer sentences
because it’s helps to give additional information. “But above all, it
came from a serious commitment to stop buying (most often
useless and soulless) gifts and to follow the “no-waste” philosophy
that emphasizes recycling, trying to give a second life to many
objects and materials that would be a shame to throw away” here
it’s helps writer to provide her thoughts and feelings clearly. Longer
sentences allow to include more information and more context. So,
you have room to add descriptions, more data, or a complimentary
point of view.

O Pronouns is the way by the author can communicate with reader or share thoughts. In my
