SUMELA MONASTERY
 The Sümela Monastery Turkish: Sümela Manastırı) stands at the foot of a steep cliff facing
the Altındere valley in the region of Maçka in Trabzon Province, Turkey. It is a major
tourist attraction located in the Altındere National Park. It lies at an altitude of about 1200
metres overlooking much of the alpine scenery below.
The monastery was founded in the year 386 (during the reign of the Emperor Theodosius I,
AD 375 – 395) by two Athenian priests – Barnabas and Sophronius according to the Turkish
Ministry of Culture . Legend states that they found an icon of the Virgin Mary in a cave on
the mountain and decided to remain in order to establish the monastery.
During its long history, the monastery has fallen into ruin several times and been restored
by successive Emperors; During the 6th Century AD, it was restored and enlarged by
General Belisarius at the behest of Justinia
UZUNGOL
 Uzungol
Trabzon 99 Km and 19 Km from Çaykara distance of 1090
meters above sea level. Located at an altitude Uzungol steep
slopes and surpasses the beauty of the Alps with
magnificent forests. Located in the middle of the valley and
the slope of the falling off the front of rocks formed
Haldizen creek lake "Uzungol known as" the environment is
given the same name. Especially near the airport "Serah"
village.
HAGIA SOPHIA

 Hagia Sophia; Made the largest Byzantine church in İSTANBUL


The conquest of Istanbul Hagia Sophia (1453) remained until the
church was converted into a mosque after the conquest, became a
museum in 1934 by Atatürk's command.
FAIRY CHIMNEYS

 Cappadocia's Fairy Chimneys are formed by lava flows


near the volcanoes and wind erosion for millions of years. It
creates a mystical atmosphere and an important feature of
the extraordinary beauty of Cappadocia.
EPHESUS

that belonged to the Turks. Ephesus had the most brilliant
time in the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The
population has reached 200,000 people in the time of
Roman Emperor Augustus. Currently located in Izmir
Selcuk .
TOPKAPI PALACE
 The Topkapı Palace ( Topkapı Sarayı) is a palace in
istanbul, Turkey, which was the official and primary
residence in the city of the Ottoman Sultans for 400
years of their 600-year reign, from 1465 to 1856.

The palace was a setting for state occasions and royal


entertainments and is a major tourist attraction today,
containing the most holy reln.
GALATA TOWER

 Galata Tower, Galata district of istanbul, this is one


of the most important symbols of the city and a tower
was built in 528. Tower to Bosphorus, the golden
Horn and Istanbul, can be traced. Galata Tower is one
of the world's oldest towers, in 528 by the Byzantine
Emperor Anastasius was built as a lighthouse tower.
