Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
2001-2010
• Arroyo was born on April 5, 1947, often referred to by her
initials PGMA and GMA
• PGMA is the daughter of the late president Diosdado
Macapagal
• Arroyo studied economics at Georgetown University in
Washington D.C. After returning to the Philippines and
graduating magna cum laude from Assumption College in
Manila in 1968, Arroyo earned a master's degree in economics
(1978) from ADMU and a doctorate in economics (1986) from
UP in Quezon City.
Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
2001-2010
• GMA is the second longest serving president of the
Philippines.
• Before her accession to the presidency, she was also a senator
from 1992 to 1998.
• She also served as the 10th Vice President of the Philippines
from 1998 to 2001, the country's first female Vice President
under President Joseph Estrada.
• She is well known for the line "Hello Garci" and "I am sorry"
due to a political scandal and alleged rigging of the 2004
national election results.

Framework Plan for Women
PGMA supported this plan which aimed to promote
women's economic empowerment, protect women's
human rights, and encourage and strengthen gender-
responsive governance.

Magna Carta of Women


The Republic Act 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, which
expanded the functions of then NCRFW, subsequently changing
its name to Philippine Commission on Women.
E-VAT
Extended Value Added Tax

The approval of the E-VAT is considered as PGMA's notable


achievement. The law granted the authority to raise the tax from 10%
to 12% under certain conditions. Despite of all the many allegations,
controversies and criticisms she received, its implementation
nevertheless improved the country's financial standing and provided
funds for the national treasury and kept the country afloat during the
worldwide economic turmoil.

Dollar Currency Exchange


Arroyo Administration managed to lower the rate of the US dollar
against the peso from 56 PHP to 46PHP.
Under Arroyo's 2006- 2010 Medium- Term Public Development Program,

94.19 billion pesos


has been spent for the construction or improvement of major road arteries.

• The Philippine Nautical Highway.


• Major roadways in Subic-Clarck-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), a 94-km major highway connecting
Metro Manila with north and northwest provinces
• The Southern Tagalog Arterial Road Tollway.
• The RO-RO System.
• The construction of new airports and improvement of old ones have been undertaken at a cost of 40
billion pesos, including the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Pampanga and the Poro Point
International Airport in La Union.

2010-2016

• February 8,1960- June 24,2022


• He is the only son of the late Pres. Corazon "Cory"
Aquino and late Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Simeon Aquino
Jr.
• Aquino graduated from the Ateneo de Manila
University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics
• In 1998, he entered politics as a member of the Liberal
Party. He served as Congressman of the 2nd District of
Tarlac until 2007.

• He became a senator in May 2007, placing 6th in the


national elections
• He chaired the Senate Committee on Local Government
and also became the vice-chairperson of the Committee
on Justice and Human Rights.
• Aquino served as the country's 15th president from
2010-2016
Major Accomplishments of
Pnoy Administration
7.7 million Filipinos were lifted out of poverty through the
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)
4Ps , through the Department of Social Welfare and Development, is
social protection program that focuses on human capital
development through the provision of cash grants to eligible poor
households subject to their compliance with education and health
conditionalities.

For education sector, Aquino will always be remembered for

Enhanced Basic Education Act in 2013


An act enhancing the Philippine Basic Education System by
strengthening its curriculum and increasing the number of
years for basic education, appropriating funds therefore and
for other purposes.

Completed Infrastructure Projects during his term


In its four years of governance, the Aquino administration has undertaken and completed more than
41,000 infrastructure projects such as creating and improving roads, bridges, airports, among others.
• 3,416 km of National Roads paved
• 8,768 km of National Roads constructed and improved
• 10,858 km of temporary bridges made permanent
• 3 new airports under construction
• 11 airports underwent major upgrading and rehabilitation
• 43 airports underwent minor upgrading and rehabilitation
• 2 ports underwent major upgrading and rehabilitation
Rodrigo roa duterte
2016-2022
• Rodrigo Roa Duterte, also known as Digong, Rody, and by
the initials DU30 and PRRD
• He is known for "Kamay na Bakal" or Iron Fist
• Duterte earned a political science degree(1968) from
Lyceum of the Philippines in Manila and a law degree
(1972) from San Beda College.
• In 1977, he joined the Davao City prosecutor's office, where
he remained until he was appointed (1986) Vice Mayor of
the city.
• DU30 was elected mayor in 1988, and he was reelected to
that post twice over the subsequent decade.
• He was the first president from Mindanao and the oldest to
be elected.

DU30 Administration
War on Drugs
DU30 firmly believes that the drug addicts are the root of all crimes
in the country. As reported by Inquirer, the Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has released a data showing that
around 5,000 known drug users were killed and 150,000 were
arrested during the 110,395 anti-narcotics operation dated from July
2016 to September 2018.

Build, Build, Build


DU30 has pushed his “Build, Build, Build” Program which aims
to invest more on infrastructures to enhance the lives of
Filipinos.
Some of the flagship projects involved are the Manila and Clark
Freeport in Pampanga; 1,500-hectare industrial park in
Pampanga; Subic-Clark Railway; and additional airports.

• Boracay Restoration
• Launched 911 as National Emergency Hotline and 8888 as National Complaint Hotline
• Anti-Terrorism Act
• Implemented free college education in state universities and colleges and institutionalized an
alternative learning system
• DU30 sought improved relations with China and Russia and reduced dependence on the
United States
