Case study – St Antonius Hospital and Co-location

BT provided St Antonius Hospital with leading

edge technology in our data centre with assured
regulatory compliance. This helped them reduce
costs whilst ensuring immediate access to patient notes.
Our data centres use state-of-the-art energy management and cooling
systems, along with sustainable power supplies, making them some
the most energy-efficient installations, and among the first to meet EU
Energy Usage Efficiency standards.
 
What’s more, St Antonius has achieved virtually zero downtime,
improved business continuity and has greater flexibility to deal with
the hospital’s rapidly expanding storage demands.

Case study – The FA and Converged Infrastructure

For the FA, our platform supports the large amount of data
generated through their advanced facilities such as a human
performance laboratory and live video to analyse training
sessions; as well as handling the FA’s website and online
ticket sales system for Wembley.

For a brand new site including 2 hotels and a media centre, investing
in a data centre capable of providing multi-vendor solutions and
secure access worked for the FA.  And the new facility acts as a second
data centre alongside Wembley.  With investments in LAN, secure
internet and Wi-Fi on-site, an on-premise solution supported by a
service level agreement was the ideal option.

Case study – LOCOG and Private Compute

For LOCOG, our Private Compute platform hosted London2012.com

and the global content delivery network which attracted 450
million visits from 109 million unique users and 40 billion page
views at a peak rate of 55,000 views a second. It had to deliver high
availability anywhere in the world, while maintaining the very
toughest standards of protection against security threats.

A private cloud solution was ideal as substantial server infrastructure

was needed, so LOCOG had the capacity it required without the need
to invest in data centre infrastructure that would be redundant after
the Games. The result was a lower total cost of ownership and less
environmental impact.

Case study – Skis Rossignol and Managed Hosting

BT provided a complete managed service including hosting

and desktop services on a company-wide basis, as well as
migrating over 750 desktops across to a thin-client
architecture, while consolidating 85 servers into a single

fragmented IT infrastructure. Responding to new growth opportunities
