Passive fit
Passive fit
When the screw is threaded into position, the superstructure may
distort, the implant may move within the bone, or the abutment
screw may distort

The distortion of the superstructure may reach a level such that a 500-ì
original gap may not be detectable.
The more passive fit on the implant abutment for screw retention and
the more controlled the occlusal forces.

The repeated compressive and tensile forces from nonpassive castings

under occlusal loads cause vibration and loosening of the screw
components.
