DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

OF A PHARMACY
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Group 1
PROJECT TEAM
BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
PMB pharmacy was founded in 1995 by Maria Nenita Celicious. It is located at
668B, Quirino Highway Rockville Subdivision, Novaliches Quezon City. PMB pharmacy is
a small business that sells generic and branded medicines and other medical uses. This
company has one branch only that operates with four employees and by the owner to
serve the consumer’s needs with the resources available. They aim to continue to work
to have many branches here in Quezon City. The Pharmacy is open Monday to Sunday,
8 am to 8 pm.
Based on the analysis and observation about the PMB pharmacy, they are implementing
the manual way of inventory by listing it on a paper to monitor the stocks and supplies.
The company does not list the payment, they just provide the available product and the
customers will pay. The company wanted to use a manual way for tracking data until now,
but they encountered that it was more time-consuming, difficult, and susceptible to data
loss because inventory sheets can become torn over time, lost, or replaced.
Based on the stated problem, the proponents seek to help the company to have a
practical solution. The proponents come up with the solution that develops a system for
pharmacy management that aims to lessen the time and avoid data loss of a company.
