THIS PRESENTATION WE WILL
FOCUSING ON  WATER SOLUBLE
VITAMINS. THE WATER-SOLUBLE
VITAMINS SECTION CONSIST OF
THE MANY VITAMINS WITHIN
THE  B COMPLEX’S AND
VITAMIN C: ALL OF WHICH
PROVIDE THE BODY WITH THE
NECESSARY MOLECULES TO
FUNCTION PROPERLY.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a vitamin found in many foods and
is often sold in pharmacies for those with health
problems. Vitamin C is necessary for tissue repair
and assists the immune system and it also acts as
the body’s antioxidant. Some natural food
resources that have Vitamin C include: oranges,
lemons, kiwis, broccoli, guavas, grapefruit,
cauliflowers and Brussel Sprouts.   Having
regular doses of Vitamin C may shorten the time
span of common cold,  it prevents infections, help
wounds heal and keep skin, bones and ligaments
healthy.
A lack of Vitamin C for a month can lead you
 down a dangerous path towards Scurvy. This
disease can cause lethargy, poor wound healing,
bone pain, bleeding gums, teeth falling out and
Vitamin B
Vitamin B complex vitamins are found
most in meats, whole grains,
pulses, seeds/nuts and fruit. They play an
important role in cell metabolism, they
help release energy from carbohydrates,
help in the oxidization of fatty acids and
the metabolism of lipids, proteins and
carbs. A deficiency of Vitamin B1 can
cause beriberi which is a disease of the
nervous system that can eventually cause
death ,but the common symptoms are
sudden weight loss, irregular heart beat
and heart failure along with a swelling of
body tissues (edema) 
The  Vitamin B's
•Thiamin (B1)-helps convert glucose into energy.

•Riboflavin(B2)-helps vision and skin health

•Niacin(B3)-help convert carbohydrates, fat and alcohol into energy

•Pantothenic acid(B5)-needed to produce red blood cells and is needed in


 steroid growth

•Biotin(B7)-needed for energy metabolism and fat synthesis


(good source is chicken)

•Vitamin (B6) (pyridoxine)-needed for carbohydrate and protein metabolism

•Folate(B9)-helps with DNA synthesis and cell growth

•Vitamin (B12)-helps maintain mental ability and breaks down some fatty acids
and amino acids.(good source is milk)
