 Prognosis
Even with prompt and appropriate therapy septic arthritis
but the prognosis is still poor. On study conducted by
Kaandorp et al in 154 patients (adults and children), 33% of
cases with outcome bad joint i.e. by amputation, arthrodesis,
prosthetic surgery, or severe functional deterioration,
Mortality ranges from 2-14%.
