How heart work

The right side of the heart receives blood that is low oxygen because
most have been used up by the brain and body .It pumps this to your
lungs ,where it picks up a fresh supply of oxygen. The blood then returns
to the the left side of the heart, ready to be pumped it back out to the
brain and the rest of your body.

The right atrium pumps the blood to the right ventricle. The right ventricle
pumps the low oxygen blood to the lungs to pick up a fresh supply of
oxygen. The left atrium receives to height oxygen blood from the lungs
and pumps it to the left ventricle.

The heart weighs between 7 and 15 ounces (200 to 425 grams) and is a
little larger than the size of your fist.
By the end of a long life , a personal’s heart may have beat ( expanded
and contracted ) more than 3.5 billion times.
It pumps blood around your body.Blood provide your body with the
oxygen and nutrients it needs. It also carries away waste. The right
side of your heart receives blood from the body and pumps it to the
lungs.

When the heart stops pumping blood, it’s called cardiac arrest. If
immediate action isn’t taken to resuscitate the heart, the person will
die.Around 300,000 to 400,000 people experience cardiacs arrest
every year. It’s possible to survive cardiac arrest without lasting
damage only if treatment is quickly delivered.

Your heart is made up of three layers of tissue:

epicardium.myocardium.endocardium.
Your heart is located in front of your chest. It sits slightly
behind and to the left of your sternum.

Chest pain on the left side is typically associated with a

heart attack. If you feel any pain on your right side, it’s most
likely not related to your heart .

Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the centre of

the chest that lasts more than a few minutes or it may
go away and return .It can feel like uncomfortable
pressure, squeezing of the upper body.
The brain derives it ‘s arterial supply from the paired carotid
and vertebral arteries.

Blood flows through three types of blood.Arteries carry

oxygen rich blood away from your heart.Capillaries are
tiny ,thin blood vessels that connect veins and
arteries.Veins carry oxygen poor blood from your body’s
tissues back to your heart.
Blood comes into the right
atrium from the body,
moves into the right
ventricle and is pushed into
the pulmonary arteries in
the lungs.After picking up
oxygen, the blood travels
back to the heart through
the pulmonary veins into
the left atrium, to the left
vent rand out to body’s
tissues through the aorta.
