others about online or
real-world activities and
events.
• Some popular SNSs(social networking sites) are
• WhatsApp
• Instagram
• YouTube
• Twitter
• Facebook
• TikTok
• Snapchat
• Social networking sites (SNSs) have fundamentally
changed the way people interact. Facebook is the
largest SNS having no less than 2.5 billion monthly
active users but other SNSs such as Instagram (one
billion) and Twitter (330 million) have vast user
bases as well.
Different people prefer Different SNSs
for example Adults prefer WhatsApp and
Facebook because Whatsapp is an App
(or software) that is much simpler and
reliable (for chatting, video call/ voice
call etc.)than other software. They use
Facebook to bond with old friends and
develop strong friendship with like-
minded people. Some people use
Facebook Marketplace for selling or
buying goods from other people.
• People use Instagram because it offers
its users quick visuals for the sharing of
information. You don't have to watch
long videos to peek into your favorite
celebrity's life. Since microblogging
has become popular, people, apart from
YouTube, also prefer to share their life
and activities through Instagram posts
and reels.
 Snapchat
 The top reasons people use Snapchat
includes talking to friends, sharing
photos, playing around with lenses and
filters, and sharing videos. In
comparison, most Twitter users use it to
keep up with current events while most
YouTube users hop on the platform to
learn more about topics of interests
 Why use YouTube
• YouTube is a website designed
for sharing video. Millions of users
around the world have created accounts
on the site that allow them to upload
videos that anyone can watch. The best
thing about YouTube is the content can
never go old; you can watch videos and
things you want over and over again, as
much as you want. That is why YouTube
can cater to millions of viewers at the
same time and allow them to enjoy
watching videos whatever they want

• TikTok's main selling point is
that it features built-in
recording and editing
capabilities that make it easy
for content creators to
quickly record, edit, and post
video on the platform–and
have them go viral when
done. Although It is banned
from some countries because
some of its extremely
inappropriate content.
