Intensifiers
We use intensifiers with adjectives to make them stronger or less
strong.
Examples:
so afraid: She is so afraid of spiders she can’t even watch them
on tv
really annoying: Insects are really annoying.
a little worried: I’m a little worried about the
test
super mean: Miss Daniela is super mean
a bit anxious: He’s a bit anxious about Christmas
very lucky: You’re very lucky
Read these sentences: do they sound the same with and without the
intensifier?

1. Last week we went to the beach with my family and it was very fun!

2. I am a little worried about the English test, I haven’t studied yet.

3. I can’t stand my cousin, he is super mean, and he is not very intelligent.


4. The math test is only two days away so I am a bit anxious now.

5. My mom didn’t have breakfast this morning, she is so hungry right now!

6. Carla is really annoying but I love her, she is my best friend
