• Environment comprises all those forces which have their
bearing on the functioning of various activities.
• Environment scanning helps management to become
proactive in nature due to continuous changes and intense
competition in today’s business environment.

• The external environment consists of those factors which
affect an organisation’s HR resources from outside the
organisation.
