Internship Definition, Objectives, and
Importance
Internship is defined to student or trainee who works in an company or organization, sometimes
without pay, focus on get work experience.

Objectives can be conversation technical skill, time management skill, reviewing the stock of
materials, product and service knowledge.

Interns is able to work in team work and enter the real work experience from other employee.
Company Profile of Hyatt Regency
Yogyakarta
Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta is a five star hotel in Yogyakarta that situated in the scenic outskirts of

north-western Yogyakarta, elegantly set in 22 hectares of beautifully landscaped hotel gardens,

addressed in Jl. Palagan Tentara Pelajar Yogyakarta. Along with its deluxe suites and rooms, the hotel

also offers a multi level swimming pool, restaurants, golf course, tennis courts, spa, and fitness center.

Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta has 269 rooms consists of 209 garden view rooms, 51 Regency Club rooms,

6 Junior Suite rooms, 2 Executive rooms, and 1 Presidential room. The guest will enjoy many fun

activities and events offered by the hotel along the day that create good impressive to return them.
Job Description
As a part of Front Office Department, in the beginning I was asked to understand the applicable
rule and regulation in the hotel. Then doing observation to identify all any product and service. I
in charge at bell desk to handle the guest arrival and departure. I was also trained to set up junior
suite, executive suite, and president suite before the guest check in. Once a week, several item
need to be pick up in material store, I prepare a requisition paper and then bring it to material
store. Sometimes, I help the guest to explain several different room, event and wedding spot. All
these job I do for four month however there is additional unpredictable job in certain moment.
 Problems and how to solve them
 In managing the guest luggage, sometimes there is luggage pending, drop the luggage into
wrong room, and forget to record the arrival or departure tag. To solve that problem I need to
be careful within listening the information from front desk and always prepare a note and pen.

 During I intern in Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta, in certain moment there is wedding party and
event conducted at some spot. Our guest and also globalist VIP complained because the hotel
quite crowded in this current pandemic however the amount of people is limited. To minimize
this problem the wedding and event were suggested totally to follow the health protocol.

For Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta, everything is OK and run well. As well as oldest hotel in Jogja for the next,
make an appropriate innovation can be in term of facilities, display, and human resource. Thank you for
the great experience.

For ICC, thank you for helping me to be intern in Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta as representative students
from campus however I applied this hotel by myself. Probably, because of this pandemic maybe the ICC
is limited in getting intern vacancy information.

For Internship Advisor, thank you very much for being my mentor and give some help and advice for 4
month, however sometimes I didn’t submit the monthly report in appropriate date.
