Trees are essential to our world and offer a
wide range of benefits to our environment. The benefits from these trees spread far beyond villages to our Homes, School and Communities as well. Trees increase our quality of life by bringing natural elements ad wildlife habitats into urban settings. RATIONALE: In effort to preserve, conserve and protect Mother Nature, and ultimately the earth, i have came up with the idea of conducting a tree planting activity. Tree planting is the most effective and relevant way to do it. With tree planting, even a small effort makes a huge differences in leaving an on-going environmental legacy of life. The proponent choose the famous Little Bagiuo located on the boarders between Caibiran Biliran and Naval Biliran. It is famous for its beautiful sceneric view with intouch with trees and beautiful mountains. Some locals notice some clear area due to landslide and deforestation. GENERAL OBJECTIVES: • Support to the sustainable develoment to the community that the project is mandated to deliver upon its operation. • To sustain the continued acceptance of the community to the project • To raise awareness in the Importance of planting and saving tree to combat climate change. • Help to bring back the lost trees in the Area. It differs from the transplantation of larger trees in arboriculture and from the lower-cost but slower and less reliable distribution of tree seeds. It also helps recharge ground water supply, prevents transport of chemicals into streams as well as prevents flooding. Its fruits provide food while its fallen leaves also make good compost and improve the quality of soil. LONG TERM GOALS: • Builds community spirit and unity • Educates communities about the benefits of trees and nature • Brings economic benefits to an area by reducing green- space maintenance costs and by raising house prices on aesthetic grounds • Removes and stores Carbon from the air • Reduces flood risk • Creates wildlife habitat • Improved aesthetics • Provide green space maintenance costs • Cleans the air, absorbs odours and pollutants BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING: Our society needs to engage in activities that can help save our environment. Tree planting is one of them. This worthwhile activity helps save our planet. It’s an activity that people from different walks of life can join to be aware of the importance of trees. A tree is a gift to everyone. It provides us with so many benefits needed for us to survive. It’s a beautiful creation that has so many uses. A tree gives us fresh air by filtering it. During a heavy storm, it works its magic by slowing down a heavy downpour thus reducing the risk of floods. A tree during the summer season cools down our surroundings. It’s long branches and leaves serve as a shade during a hot day. A tree produces fruits that nourish our bodies. A tree aside from its many benefits also helps people that live around it.
