encountered in thier travels and during thier attempts to “civilized” the Filipinos.
- Several Filipinos practices were encourage to be discontinued by the Spanish colonizers, that cremation
were forbidden by the Catholic Church.
- The Spanish Jesuit missionaries sent to the Philippines encourage the Filipino people to convert to
Catholism.
- During Spanish colonialism, Spains influence was evident through the establishment of Catholic
Churches.
