Guidelines
for use
1. Enter project data into top line. This should not change during life of the project.
2. Enter current project data into second line. Update through life of project.
3. Input “Cost Breakdown” pie chart. This will remain unchanged.

4. Input stacked columns showing “Budget Comparison”. This will be updated through life of the project.
a) budget (with contingency). This should not change.
b) Committed expense based on agreed contracts/purchase orders/quotations
c) Forecasted expenditure without contingency allowance

5. Enter a high level “Milestones” timeline and move blue vertical line though life of the project.
6. Enter risks (RAG). 5 minimum each week (no blank spaces).

5. High-level reporting only.
6. Only provide details when asked by client.
7. Always start with project name, details (ie; start top left / finish bottom right).
8. Encourage client to talk (what client says is more important that what PM says)
