LESSON PLAN VS SYLLABUS

• Lesson plan
- A tool of writing used a guide in delivery of a lesson, the key goals and
time-lines to be used to achieve an effective delivery of the lesson content
- The instructor’s road map of what students need to learn and how it will
be done effectively during the class time
• Syllabus
- A syllabus is an outline what is or was in a particullar curriculum
- A syllabus is another of a specific course prepared by the instructor. It
included the topics to be covered,their order, often the required suggested
reading material, and any other relevant information
- It includes assigment and exam dates and topics that will be covered
during the smester
FUNCTION OF LESSON PLAN

• Ensure definite objective for the days work


• Keeps the teachers on track
• Ensures selection, presentation, interpretation of subject
matter
• Helps to choose effective method of teaching
• Enables to evaluate the teaching session
• Helps to review the subject and gives up to date knowledge
• Facilitate microteaching
• Help to clarify the ideas
• Enables teacher to organize classroom teaching activities
LESSON PLAN FORMAT

• The lesson plan format consists of a unit name, start time, end
time, aim, objective, academic activities, points to be covered
in that unit. This makes it easier for the teacher, as well as
students, to remember the important details of the unit.
