 Pada akhir Fase E, peserta didik menggunakan teks
lisan, tulisan dan visual dalam bahasa Inggris untuk
berkomunikasi sesuai dengan situasi, tujuan, dan
pemirsa/ pembacanya. Berbagai jenis teks seperti
narasi, deskripsi, prosedur, eksposisi, recount,
report, dan teks otentik menjadi rujukan utama
dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris di fase ini.

ELEPHANT
 An elephant is the largest and strongest of all animals. It is a strange-
looking animal with its thick legs, huge sides and backs, large hanging
ears, a small tail, little eyes, long white tusks, and above all it has a long
nose, the trunk.
 The trunk is the elephant’s peculiar feature, and it has various uses. The
elephant draws up water by its trunk and can squirt it all over its body
like a shower bath. It can also lift leaves and put them into its mouth. In
fact, the trunk serves the elephant as a long arm and hand. An elephant
looks very clumsy and heavy, yet it can move very quickly.
 The elephant is a very intelligent animal. Its intelligence combined with
its great strength makes it a very useful servant to man and it can be
trained to serve in various ways such as carry heavy loads, hunt for
tigers and even fight.
REPORT TEXT
 Report is a text which describes or presents
information about something in general
PURPOSE
 Its social purpose is presenting information about
something. They generally describe an entire class
of things, whether natural or made: mammals, the
planets, rocks, plants, countries of region, culture,
transportation, and so on.
GENERIC STRUCTURE
 General Classification :Stating classification of
general aspect of thing; animal, public place, plant,
etc which will be discussed in general.

 Description : Tells what the phenomenon under


discussion in terms of parts, qualities, habits or
behaviors.
LANGUAGE FEATURES
 Use of general nouns, eg hunting dogs, rather than particular nouns, e.g
our dog
 Use of relating verbs to describe features, e.g Molecules are tiny particles
 Some use of action verbs when describing behaviour, e.g Emus cannot fly
 Use of timeless present tense to indicate usualness, e.g Tropical cyclones
always begin over the sea
 Use of technical terms, e.g Isobars are lines drawn on a weather map
 Use of paragraphs with topic sentences to organize bundles of information;
repeated naming of the topic as the beginning focus of the clause.
 Use of passive voice. e.g : it can be trained to serve in various ways such
as carry heavy loads, hunt for tigers and even fight.
