Vincentian Prayer

Live Jesus forever in our hearts. Oh my

God, I believe in You. Strengthen my
faith, I hope in You. Confirm my hope, I
love You. Make me love You more and
more. I am sorry for my sins, increase my
sorrow Jesus meek and humble of heart,
Make our hearts like Yours

O Mary conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Merry Christmas
LEARNING OBJECTIVES

equations; and
• Exhibit positive outlook in dealing with real –
life problems.

EQUATIONS THAT CAN BE
REDUCE TO QUADRATIC
EQUATION

• Quadratic Form
• Rational Equations
• Radical Equations
GENERAL PROCEDURE IN SOLVING
EQUATIONS IN QUADRATIC FORM

• Identify the substitution.

• Transform the equation into quadratic equation.
• Solve the resulting quadratic equation using any of the appropriate
methods in solving equations.
• Apply the substitution to rewrite the solution in terms of the
original variable.
• Solve the resulting equations.
• Check your solution.
EXAMPLES
Solve for the following equations:
1.
2.
3.
GENERAL PROCEDURE IN SOLVING
RATIONAL EQUATIONS TRANSFORMABLE
TO QUADRATIC EQUATION
• Transform the given to quadratic form by eliminating the denominators.
• Solve the resulting quadratic equation using any of the methods in
solving quadratic equations.
• Verify the roots by checking if the value will not make any of the
denominators equal to zero.
• Include value that will not make any of the denominators equal to zero
in the solution set. Discard the value that will make the denominator
equal to zero including the extraneous roots.
EXAMPLES
• Solve the following:
𝑥 12
+ =𝑥 −2
3 𝑥
4 𝑥−6 7
=
2 𝑥 −3 𝑥+1
STEPS IN SOLVING RADICAL
EQUATIONS
• Isolate the radical expression involving the variable in the
equation.
• Raise both sides of the equation by the index of the isolated
radical.
• If there is still a radical in the equation repeat steps 1 and 2.
• Solve the resulting quadratic equation using factoring or
quadratic formula.
• Check the results.
EXAMPLES
𝑦 −6= √ 𝑦
√ 𝑥=𝑥 −2
• What do you mean by transformable quadratic equation?
• What are the different types of equation that can be
transformed into quadratic equation?
• How are you going to solve for the roots of the equation if
the given is quadratic form?
• How are you going to solve if the given is rational
expression? Radical expression?
We have learned from this lesson that equations that are not in
quadratic form cannot be solved unless they are transformed into
quadratic equation form. Once this is done, solving these kinds of
problems became an easy task. Similarly, we sometimes encounter
real – life problems that seem impossible to solve and no matter
what how much we try, we fail to arrive at the proper solutions. Just
like mathematical equations, one may solve real – life problems by
dissecting them through different perspective. Then simplify. What
are these problems that you have already encountered and how did
you deal with it?

CLOSING
We thank youPRAYER
a hundredfold for the love
and care that you have given us. May we
return to you your good works by
multiplying it with love and respect,
adding more faith, subtracting worldly
behavior and evil works, and dividing
your given talents to others, so we can
sum them all and be united as one in your
family. In this we pray, Amen.
