Part 2 • The second part of the story tells us about Ustad Bismillah Khan. • He was born in Dumraon in Bihar • He had interest in music since his childhood • He accompanied his uncle to the Vishnu temple of Banaras where his uncle performed Ustad Bismillah Khan

he also started practicing the instrument • At the age of fourteen, Bismillah accompanied his uncle to the Allahabad Music conference Shehnai • The opening of the All-India Radio in Lucknow in 1938 became a starting point for him. • He played the shehnai on 15th August 1947 on the Red Fort during India’s Independence. • He was awarded with awards like Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. • He also received the highest Indian civilian award in 2001 • He wants to teach other children and is a big role-model himself.
