Universal Human Values-I
Introduction:
• "All great people of the world have tried to realize the
truth and to live by it in terms of love and compassion.
• They have tried to : Understand themselves (human being)
Understand the underlying harmony in nature, in existence
• They have tried to understand the role of the human being
in nature, in existence, to live by it, and to develop an
equitable and just society which ensures the wellbeing of
all For all such great people, we have a deep feeling of
gratitude."
Universal Human Values-I
Introduction:
• Self exploration is the process to find out what
is valuable to me by investigating within
myself, what is right for me, true for me, has
to be judged within myself. Through self
exploration we get the value of ourselves. We
live with different entirety (family, friends, air,
soil, water, trees, etc.)
Purpose of self exploration:

• It is a process of dialogue between “what you are?”

and “what you really want to be?”
• It is a process of self evolution through self
investigation
• Process of knowing oneself and through that
understanding entire existence
• Process of recognizing relationship with every unit in
existence
Contd…
Purpose of self exploration:
• Process of knowing Human Conduct, human
character and living accordingly
• Process of being in harmony with oneself and
with entire existence
• Process of knowing innateness and moving
towards self organization and self expression
Self awareness and self discovery:
Aspirations and Concerns:
All human beings aspire for a happy, fulfilling life. For a
human being, there are two important
Questions pertaining to this:
• What is my aspiration? (What to do?)
• How to fulfill my aspiration? (How to do?)
When we try to find out if we have fulfilled our
basic aspiration, it is not always so affirmative.
There is quite a gap between our basic aspiration and
our state of being.
Some Aspirations are like…
• Become an inspiration to others.
• Master a difficult skill.
• Become a thought leader in your industry.
• Get promoted to an executive role at your company.
• Learn about how to become a millionaire.
• Go on a trip around the world.
• Travel to your dream country.
• Double your personal income.
How to develop Aspirations?
• Define a vision for the future.
• Draft a plan of action.
• Think about how to sustain and increase motivation,
inspiration, independence and confidence.
• Define and work on current levels of activity and
support.
• Be open to change, learning and a transformational
process.
Goal vs Aspiration

• A goal usually has a set time frame in which to

achieve it. The time required to achieve an aspiration
is variable. While a goal focuses on achieving a
specific, tangible outcome, an aspiration is more
general. Aspirations also leave room for different
outcomes and results.
What is self-management?
• Self-management is our ability to manage our behaviors,
thoughts, and emotions in a conscious and productive
way.
• Someone with strong self-management skills knows what
to do and how to act in different situations. For instance,
they know how to control their anger when the umpire
unfairly calls their child out at a little league game. They
know how to avoid distractions while working from home,
so they can maintain focus and stay productive. They
know what they need to do to achieve their fitness goals
and they follow through.
Healthy Relationships:
• Everyone years for that feeling of belonging and being
loved
• We are able to meet those needs through
relationships
• Relationship: A bond or connection you have with
other people
• All our relationships can have positive/negative impact
• A healthy relationship supports, helps and encourages
each other
Traits of Healthy Relationship:
• Mutual Respect • Treat each other with respect
• Honesty • Don’t criticize each other
• Caring • Allow each other to spend
• Commitment time with others
Society
• At the level of society: Self-organization in society,
emerging out of such families, has five dimensions
Education of right values(sanskar);
Health-restraint;
Production-work;
Exchange-storage;
Justice-security.
