Instructions
1. La conversación que presentarán debe incluir lo siguiente:

 Saludo.
 2 preguntas abiertas y 2 respuestas sobre la situación escogida por cada integrante, usando presente
continuo y vocabulario sobre tipos de trabajo y estilos de aprendizaje.
 2 preguntas abiertas y 2 respuestas sobre la situación escogida por cada integrante, usando be going to y
vocabulario sobre hobbies, actividades cotidianas y celebraciones.
 Una interacción colaborativa y equitativa entre la pareja (o trío) en el tiempo asignado.
 Despedida.

Situation
 It’s Saturday night and you’re in a party with a new friend from INACAP. You want to know about his/her life,
the job he/she has, what he/she likes to do in his/her free time, and what his/her future personal or career plans
are.

2. Learning styles
3. Hobbies/routine activities
4. Future personal/career plans. Example: vacations, learning new languages, travelling abroad, moving to a
different city/country, applying for a new job, asking for a promotion/salary raise, etc.
5. Invitation to visit places, doing activities, going to parties, eat out, celebrations etc.

Present continuous
• It is used to talk about actions in progress and near future.
• It is normally used with certain time expressions that reinforce the sense of “ progress”
• Example: At the momento, currently, right now, this year/semester/week, etc.

• Affirmative: I am working at INACAP.

• Negative: I´m not working at INACAP.


You’re not working at INACAP.
You aren’t working at INACAP.
He’s not working at INACAP.
He isn’t working at INACAP.

Interrogative: Are you working at INACAP? -> Yes, I am. No I’m not.
Where are you working?
Questions words

• Which? Cuál ( opciones conocidas)
• How? Cómo
• How much – How many? Cuánto, cuántos?
• Where? Dónde
• When? Cuándo
• Who? Quién

Superlatives
• It’s a form of comparative in which you indicate that one thing is at
the top of its category.

• Example: Pedro is the most intelligent boy of the school.


• Iquique is the hottest city in Chile.

• Iphone 14 is the newest ( new) iphone.


• Costanera Center is the biggest (big) Shopping Centre.
Future “ Be going to”
• To talk about future plans.

• Affirmative: I am going to go to Brazil next summer.


• Negative: She isn’t going to go to Brazil next summer.
• Interrogative: Is she going to go to Brazil next summer?
• Where is she going to go next summer?
Possible questions – Be going to
• Are you going to go on vacation next summer? Yes, I am. No I’m not.

• How long are you going to stay?

• A:I’m sorry to hear that! What are you doing to improve?
• B: I’m studying very hard and doing all my homework, but it’s difficult for me.

• A:I’m drinking piscola. What are you going to drink?
• B: I’m going to drink amaretto sour. Are you going to work tomorrow?
• A: No, I’m not. I’m free on Sundays. What are you going to do tomorrow?
• B: I’m going to study English. I have test on Monday.
