CELL STRUCTURE

AND
CELL ORGANISATION
UNDERSTANDING CELL
STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 A student is able to:

 Draw and label an animal cell

 Draw and label a plant cell
CELL STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION

All living organisms are made up of basic

units called cells.

Cells are like the bricks to build the walls of

a house whereby they form the building
blocks of all living organisms
Like the bricks, cells are the basic units
of living organisms as shown above
CELL STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION

 The living components of a cell is called

protoplasm which is made up of cytoplasm
and nucleus.

 The protoplasm is surrounded by a thin

layer called plasma membrane

 The cytoplasm contains structures called

organelles which perform specific
functions that enables the cell to function
well.
