● Independent special operations brigade of the Bangladesh Army.

● Special operations unit was 1st initiated during the liberation war.

● Recently formed on 4th September, 2016 on adhoc basis.

● It’s headquarter is based on Sylhet.

● Consists of two para-commando battalions.

Holy Artisan Crisis
● Occurred on July 1, 2016

● 1st Commando Battalion was engaged.

● Initiated the raid at 7:40 a.m.

● Concluded the raid at 8:30 a.m.

● Successfully rescued 13 hostages

● Eliminated the threat successfully.

Operation Twilight
● Surrounded a suspected militant hideout on Thursday, 23 March 2017.

● Took place in Dakshin Surma Upazila, Sylhet, Bangladesh.

● Launched by the 1st Para-Commando Battalion.

● The Commando unit was being assisted by SWAT and Bangladesh Police.

● The commandos rescued 78 civilians trapped in the building.

● The Bangladesh Army used RPGs and shells to drive the militants out.
