Logic
- derived from the Greek word “logos”
meaning “spoken word”, “speech”, “reason”

- “logia” meaning “argument”,

- logike meaning “act of reasoning”,


“discourses of thinking”, or “treaties of thought”
“the science and art of correct thinking”

-As a Science,
* a body of systematized knowledge
* investigates, discourses, expresses, and
demonstrates law laws of correct thinking
-As an Art,
* guides man’s reasoning so he can proceed
with order and ease and without error in
the constructive activity of making,
definitions of terms

OF LOGIC

1. Contributes to the quality of human life
to improve human civilization
2. Helpful in the practice of any profession,
in analyzing or making decision in one’s
daily life
3. Builds confidence in oneself, provides man
a sense of direction, order, validity, truth,
and accuracy
