A STEP-BY-STEP ON HOW TO CHANGE

POWER SETTINGS ON NOS

1. Open NOS
2. Log-in using pre-assigned NOS credentials

3. Select the FAP using the search bar, in this case,

we will be using our test AP with EID “000295-0200161863”.
4. Double-click on the parent object to display the child object.

Power setting attributes will be found under the child object of the site.
5. Under the search bar, type in “pcpichpowerinuse” and press “Next” to display the attribute
on where we can change the power settings.

Note: The default value of the PCPICHPowerInUse displays the range of the
usable values. In this case, -10 to +10, which makes it adjust automatically
depending on which the system thinks is the most optimum setting.
6. On the attribute with “PCPICHPower” change the value to the desired value of power.

Note: PCPICHPOWERInUse attribute will only have a value when

the FAP is up, it will display the current power value (in dBm) used
by the FAP. The values here are in steps of 0.1dB.

Example: PCPICHPowerInUse = 80dBM means that the actual

maximum power of transmission is 8dBm.

Note: Always press enter after changing the value of each attribute.
7. After making the desired changes, you will then choose whether to “Commit to DB” or
to “Commit and Sync AP”. Please take note of the following difference between them.

Commit to DB – Used when the FAP being configured is Commit & Sync AP – Used when the FAP being configured is
currently not online. Syncing of the changed parameters will currently online and is currently connected to NOS. This will
only take happen when the FAP has connected to NOS again. change the attributes and sync them real-time to the FAP.

8. Select whichever is applicable. In this case, we chose the “Commit to DB”.

9. Remotely reboot the AP after configuration.
