TOPIC: PEOPLE MY BEST FRIEND

Level : Intermediate Lesson objective: Students should be able to write an essay of 80 100 words about their best friend. Time : 70 minutes Resources : Pictures from magazines, poem and pictures from the internet.

SET INDUCTION Teacher shows some pictures. Teacher elicits responses from students about quality of relationship. (Adjectives) Students are expected to give words of quality eg: loving , friendly, caring, trustworthy

Procedures

Pre-writing Teacher shows a poem on the LCD. Teacher asks students to highlight the adjectives in the poem.

PRESENTATION

While writing Teacher distributes worksheet 1and asks students to fill in the blanks with suitable adjectives describing their best friend. Students may contribute more adjectives. Students brainstorm ideas based on the essay outline. (sourced from the internet) Students write an essay of 80-100 words about their best friends.

Post writing Students write about their idols.
