 Few years ago, concepts such as mask mandates,
lockdowns, and social distancing remained known to us.
 Currently, these terms are part of our everyday lives since
the effects of COVID-19 continue to impact lives and
businesses.
 Restrictions established to manage the spread of COVID-
19 strained vulnerable health systems, posing an impact on
the economic growth of nations.
 Reports revealed that the pandemic triggered a significant
global economic crisis, leading to global recession.
 Forecasts reveal that the global economy and its per
capital income shrunk, a factor that pushed businesses to
economic downturns.
Impact of COVID-19 on The Travel and
Tourism Industry
 COVID-19 pandemic had a significant effect on the travel
and tourism industry generally.
 The industry was not immune to the effects of the
pandemic as it was affected significantly by the
pandemic.
 The travel and tourism industry faced a period of
temporal closure that lead to a disruption in its business
operations.
 A reduction in the travel and tourism industry workers
capacity through social distancing lead to a significant
decrease in revenues.
 The industry was further required to implement proper
safety measures in a bid to prevent the significant spread
of the pandemic
Impact of COVID-19 on Gordon
Ramsay Restaurant and the Ledbury
The pandemic resulted in changes in consumer behaviour, a
factor that forced the restaurants to change their business model.
Further, it resulted into disruptions in the organizations supply
chain, a move that significantly affected the firms business
operations.
Economically, the pandemic reduced the disposable incomes of
the workers, an aspect that further affected the worker’s
motivation.
In response to such challenges, Gordon Ramsey and the
Ledbury’s restaurants implemented different strategies.
These strategies encompassed the offering of meal kits, exploring
outdoor dining approaches, launch of new delivery services, and
the adoption of new strategies to mitigate the impact of COVID-19
pandemic.
