Summary
Cady Heron, a 16 years old girl enters a public high school in the United States after moving there because of her parents'
job change, finds that her social life is very difficult.

On the second day, she makes friends some guys, Janis and Damian. Both warn her about "The Plastics",
a group of girls formed by the most beautiful and the prettiest and most popular girl in school, Regina

George, Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith.

At lunchtime, Regina notices Cady and Janis comes up with the idea of Cady posing as a member of the
group to learn the girls' secrets and taunt them; Regina betrays Cady during a Halloween party, going back to her ex-
boyfriend, Aaron Samuels, knowing that Cady was interested in him; so she follows an elaborate plan with the help of her
friends, to destroy Regina's reputation.

To make it work, Cady pretends that she was not bothered by what happened, which provokes Gretchen's jealousy, who
confesses to her that Regina is unfaithful to Aaron, so Cady tries to make Aaron find out, but fails. So Cady betrays
Regina. Cady betrays Regina to Aaron, but fails to win his interest, so she pretends to be bad in calculus class,
drawing the attention of Mrs. Norbury, who worries about her poor school performance and threatens to
pressure her, which causes Cady to write a false rumor about her in the "Burn Book," a book by Regina and
her friends where they make fun of the girls at school.
Over time, Cady acquires more of "The Plastics" qualities, worrying Janis and Damian, but Cady wants to
go along with the plan and cheats numerous times on Regina. Regina then begins to be obnoxious,
which causes her friends to reject her and start following Cady, who plans to confirm her courtship with
Aaron at a house party, but things get complicated when she gets drunk and vomits on Aaron, and her
friendship with Janis breaks down when she discovers that Cady has betrayed her. Regina discovers the
deception and retaliates, delivering the "Burn Book" to Principal Duvall and writing a paragraph
about herself to leave the group of "The Plastics" as prime suspects.

Regina spreads copies of the "Burn Book" causing all the girls in her school to fight, Duvall manages to stop the mess and
gathers the girls in the gym to help them, at which point, Janis confesses how she conspired against Regina and rats out
Cady. Regina, enraged, tries to leave the school while Cady chases after her, apologizing, but as they argue, Regina stops
in the middle of the street and an encore runs her over.

Upon reflection, Cady tries to make amends for her mistakes, so she assumes having written the “Burn Book", apologizes
to Regina and joins the Math Club to pass her class, being the winner; Cady then reluctantly attends the prom where she
is unexpectedly named prom queen, she takes the opportunity to apologize to everyone.

Some time later, "The Plastics" split up: Regina becomes a popular lacrosse, Karen to become a weather reporter,
while Gretchen joins the school's Korean girl group. Meeting her friends at the school's entrance, Cady identifies
some freshmen whom Damian calls "New Plastics" as a threat to the school's newfound peace and for a
moment imagines them being run over by a bus as a solution.
