Eden Lake is a 2008 horror film, written and directed by James Watkins It was produced by Christian Colson and Richard Holmes The cinematographer was Christopher Ross, editing was done by Jon Harris and music was composed by David Julyan

Producers Christian Colson and Richard Holmes had (and have gone on to) produce films which gained commercial and critical success. Writer / director James Watkins had also written other films before Eden Lake, such as My Little Eye (2002) and Gone (2007) The composer for Eden Lake, David Julyan, had gained success after composing for a few Christopher Nolan films; Memento (2000), Insomnia (2002) and The Prestige (2006)

Casting / Actors
Eden Lake stars Kelly Riley as the main character Jenny. She had previously been in successful films such as The Libertine, Mrs Henderson Presents and Pride and Prejudice. It also stars Michael Fassbender, who has gone on to feature in big budget, commercially successful films Inglorious Basterds, 300, XMen; First Class and Jonah Hex

Budget and Funding


Eden Lake was made on a relatively small budget and over a short period of time only 6 weeks! The film was funded by the Aramid Entertainment Fund; clearly the fact that some of the people making the film had been involved with projects that got such critical and commercial success would have helped in persuading this company to assist with funding.
