Robotics: Definition
Robotics is the branch of technology that
Karel apek
deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. The word robotics was derived from the word robot, which was introduced to the public by Czech writer Karel apek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots), which premiered in 1921.
What is a robot?
A re-programmable, multifunctional
manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools, or specialized devices through various programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks.
History of Robotics
1940 Isaac Asimov produces a series of
short stories about robots starting with A Strange Playfellow (later renamed Robbie) for Super Science Stories magazine. The story is about a robot bound to protect a child. It is later compiled into the volume, I, Robot in 1950. 1941 - Science fiction writer Isaac Asimov first used the word "robotics" to describe the technology of robots and predicted the rise of a powerful robot industry.
2004
trying to take over the world. 2005 - Honda debuts new Asimo robot that can complete office tasks.

Types of Robots
1. Pick and place -Moves items between points 2. Continuous path control -Moves along a programmable path 3. Sensory -Employs sensors for feedback
Sensory
Uses sensors for feedback.
Closed-loop robots use sensors in conjunction with actuators to gain higher accuracy servo motors.
Robot: Manipulator The part of the robot that performs the task
Controller
Brain or computer center which coordinates the robots movements Power supply
1. Hydraulic 2. Pneumatic 3. Electric 4. Vacuum 5. Often a combination; the end-effectors mostly
pneumatic
Vehicle
Used to move the robot on a track, free wheels, treads, or some type of legs/feet

Strength
XYZ CAN BE USED AS A SERVANT IN YOUR
HOUSE. XYZ CAN WORK AS A WORKER IN ANY FACTROY IF PROGRAMMED SO. XYZ IS A SEARCH AND RESCUE MODEL i.e. IT CAN HELP IN A AREA WHERE DISASTER OCCURRED. ALSO IT CAN BE USED IN MILITARY USES DEPENDS ON THE MANUFACTURER AND NOT CONSUMER.
WEAKNESS
Time consuming: as it takes a long to work on
the body of a robot. Difficult to manufacture: the parts are to be imported and also a tedious job. High cost. Uses depends on the manufacturer and not consumer. Cannot guarantee perfection in all given work.
OPPORTUNITIES
Military, can get this robot and while war send it to
find enemy locations and benefit our country. Also, xyz can be sent wherever fire is been set. So that it can locate hostages or extinguish fire himself. Another opportunity for xyz is getting sold into market on a large scale and helping people in given work.
THREATS
Programming, design and electrical,
mechanical, and sensor problems are all threats to xyz. Debugging the code is a major factor in the success of the robot. If the robot cannot be programmed, the robot is not operational. Choosing the correct code is vital to the project.
PESTLE analysis
Pestle analysis is cincerned with the
environmental influences that could affect strategic development of a business. Pestle stands for POLITICAL, ECONOMICAL, SOCIAL, TECHNOLOGICAL, LEGAL AND ENVIRONMENT ISSUE.
Environment
The material used in manufacturing of xyz
