Be merciful to me, O God
because of your constant love
Because of your great mercy
wipe away my sins!
Wash away all my evil and
make me clean from my sin!
I recognize my faults
 I am always conscious of my sins
I have sinned against you - only against you
and done what you consider evil
So you are right in judging me
you are justified in condemning me
I have been evil from the day I was born
from the time I was conceived
I have been sinful
 Sincerity and truth are what you require
fill my mind with your wisdom
Remove my sin, and I will be clean
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow
Let me hear the sounds of joy and gladness
and though you have crushed me
and broken me
I will be happy once again
 Close your eyes to my sins and
wipe out all my evil
Create a pure heart in me, O God
and put a new and loyal spirit in me
Do not banish me from your presence
Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me
 Give me again the joy
that comes from your salvation
and make me willing to obey you
Then I will teach sinners your commands
and they will turn back to you
Spare my life, O God, and save me
and I will gladly proclaim your righteousness
 Help me to speak, Lord
and I will praise you
You do not want sacrifices
or I would offer them
you are not pleased with burnt offerings
My sacrifice is a humble spirit, O God
You will not reject a humble
and repentant heart O God
 Be kind to Zion and
help her rebuild
the walls of Jerusalem
Then you will be pleased
with proper sacrifices
and with our burnt offerings and bulls

Whoever goes to the Lord for safety,

whoever remains under the protection
of the Almighty, can say to him:
"You are my defender and protector
You are my God; in you I trust"
He will keep you safe from all hidden
 dangers and from all deadly diseases
He will cover you with his wings
you will be safe in his care his
faithfulness will protect and defend you
You need not fear any dangers at night
or sudden attacks during the day
or the plagues that strike in the dark
or the evils that kill in daylight
 A thousand may fall dead beside you
ten thousand all around you
but you will not be harmed
You will look and see how the
wicked are punished
You have made the Lord your defender
the Most High your protector
and so no disaster will strike you
 no violence will come near your home
God will put his angels in charge of you
to protect you wherever you go
They will hold you up with their hands
to keep from hurting your feet on the stones
You will trample down lions and snakes
fierce lions and poisonous snakes
God says, "I will save those who love me
and will protect those who
acknowledge me as Lord
When they call to me, I will answer them
When they are in trouble, I will be with them
I will rescue them and honour them
I will reward them with long life
I will save them" Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty
Creator of heaven and earth
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
born of the Virgin Mary
suffered under Pontius Pilate
was crucified, died and was buried
 He descended into hell
on the third day
He rose again from the dead
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of
God the Father Almighty
from there He will come to judge
 the living and the dead
I believe in the Holy Spirit

 PRAYER FOR UNITY OF CHRISTIANS
Abba Father, hear the prayers of thy people and bring
the hearts of all believers together
in thy praise and thy glory. Heal all divisions among
Christians that we may rejoice in the perfect unity of
thy Church and move
together as one to eternal life in thy kingdom.
 Abba Father, look with love on thy people
and pour out upon us the gifts of
thy Holy Spirit. May we constantly grow
in the love of truth. Let thy Church rise more clearly
as a sign for all the nations that the world may be
filled with the light of the Holy Spirit and believe in
Jesus Christ whom thou sent for the salvation of
mankind. Amen.
 PRAYER FOR THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Lord Jesus on the night of your Last Supper you
promised to ask your Father to send us another
paraclete, the Spirit of truth, to abide
in us and guide us. After ascending into heaven you
poured out upon your apostles the Spirit of adoption
as children. Send your Spirit, Lord Jesus, upon us,
the same spirit
who rested upon you, anointed you and sent you to
preach the good news to the poor.
Give us the spirit of wisdom and undersanding, the
spirit of right judgement and courage, the spirit of
knowledge and reverence. Fill us with the Spirit of
the holy fear of the Lord. Send your Holy Spirit
to be our helper and guide.

Lord, fill our minds and hearts with the fire

in their need. I, too, come to you who are so rich in
graces and who are the favoured
friend of the Infant Jesus, confident
that I do not pray in vain.
 Eloquent preacher of the infinite mercy of God,
refuse not my prayer, but take my petition before the
throne of God, so that I may have help and strength
in my present trial and necessity. O miraculous St.
Anthony, I need these favours from you which I now
mention...Bless me in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
