Synergy with RRTS
Public Private Partnership | Indian Railways
Convergent Features Divergent Features
 25kV AC OHLE  Motorisation needs reducing from 67% to 50%
 Max Axle Loads Shared  Track gauge needs modifying from Standard Gauge to Indian Gauge
 Car Width broadly similar  RRTS car height slightly too high (approx. 10 cm)
 Same Door System could be used  Unit length of 16 cars required when RRTS is made on a multiple of 3
car concept
 Same propulsion family could be used
 TCMS / PIES updates for changes in unit arrangement
 Shared design speed
 Unit length and mass will drive chance in the crashworthiness concept
 Shared operational speed
 Cattleguard on cab is required
 PIES
 New interior features for executive class and sleeping cars
 EN 45545 HL2 for seated areas
 EN 45545 HL3 for sleeping areas
 Carbody principles and material (Excluding cab)
 Interior noise requirements significantly more onerous, 7 db(A) lower
 Less onerous vertical curves 2500 m vs 2250 m
 Tightest curve to be negotiated slightly worse 145.83 m vs 150.0 m
 Removal central double doors
 Car length reverted to QNGR donor (c. 24.0m)
