Pythagorean

Theorem
By: Maryam Almughyirah
What is the Pythagorean theorem?
• The Pythagorean theorem was created by Pythagoras, and
it is an equation that relates the sides of the right triangle,
that we could find all the sides of the triangle.
• An extra corollary of this theorem is that in any right
triangle, the hypotenuse will always be greater than the
other sides of the triangle.
How did the Pythagorean theorem change
the world?
• The Pythagorean theorem
was, and is still now a great
discovery, which also has
some increasing changes in
the world everyday.
• We use Pythagorean
theorem in everything we
make, build, and create.
How did Pythagoras work in math affect
us today?
• Mathematics: Today, the
Pythagorean theorem is
very important part of
many other fields of
mathematics. This theorem
is the bases of trigonometry.
Pythagorean theorem is
even linked to fractal
geometry.
How did Pythagoras work in math affect
us today?
Art: Pythagoras greatly admired art, and even thought himself as
an artist. Some artists use the triangle as a drawing tool.
Pythagoras thought that life without art and mathematics would
be very hard to live.
How did Pythagoras work in math affect
us today?
• Buildings: Another way how we used the Pythagorean
theorem in modern day are buildings. Builders and
engineers use this formula, so that they can find the
missing sides. As you can see, the Pythagorean theorem is
used in houses and buildings.
