BACKGROUND

 Old name : Sandal Bar  to  Lyallpur  to Faisalabad

 Total area : 4 yards

 In 1865, this area was used for agriculture

 After that, it served as multi town

 A clock tower was placed at the center of 8 bazars that from a bird eye view look like
the union jack flag of United kingdom

 This layout still exists today

 A water well formally existed at the exact location of clock tower which was filled
with earth

 The decision to build the clock tower on this spot was taken by the then Jhang
deputy commissioner sir James layyal, whom the city was named after
