A mutual fund is a common pool of money into which investors place their contributions that are to be
invested in different types of securities in accordance with the stated objective.
-An equity fund would buy equity assets - ordinary shares, preference shares, warrants etc.
-A bond fund would buy debt instruments such as debenture bonds, or government securities/money
market securities.
-A balanced fund will have a mix of equity assets and debt instruments.
-Mutual Fund shareholder or a unit holder is a part owner of the fund's asset.
- The value of a share of the mutual fund, known as the net asset value per share (NAV) is calculated
daily based on the total value of the fund divided by the number of shares currently issued and
outstanding.

In a competitive situation with multiple mutual funds operating in Indian market, it is necessary to
know about the performance of different mutual funds as the performance of mutual fund
decides about the future of Mutual Fund Company.
In this study my focus is upon performance of investors regarding HDFC &ICICI.
