Existing Culverts Condition
• Ex. culvert comprises of two corrugated steel
arch shaped pipes (CSP - Arch), built in 1967
– 3.5m wide x 2.1m high x 11.3 m long
• Ex. culverts have been damaged beyond
repairs – complete structural failure
o Severe deformation and shape is irregular
o Sheet piling at north & south sides of
structure have completely failed with
major deformation
o Culvert has lost its structural integrity with
no stable foundation
o Sever corrosion with full loss of section at
the outlet
o Loss of bedding behind apron wall at
outlet

Replacement/ Rehabilitation Options
Option Structure Est. Cost Comments

#1 Replace with 20m Total: $808k • New Pedestrian bridge can only be built after
span Pedestrian Ped. Bridge - $408k; removal of the existing culverts and creek is re-

Note: Only circular pipes can be lined – see below

Pathway Looping Options
• The City leases Huntington Park from the Province, since 2012
– Current term of the Lease expires Sept 30, 2022
– City has a right to renew for a further 10 years

• Pathway Looping on either side of pathway


o Operations Parks has identified options which would need to be discussed/
approved with the Province should this option be exercised
