Use there is when the noun is singular (“There is a cat”).
Use there are when the noun is plural (“There are two cats”).

In most sentences,
the noun comes
before the verb. But
in sentences that

Some - Any - A - An
A and AN
We use A/AN (articles) with singular countable nouns. Some and Any
• A is used when the next word starts with a consonant sound. We use SOME and ANY with plural
-A book nouns and uncountable nouns.

• AN is used when the next word starts with a vowel sound. -I have some information for you

Questions with Some and Any
But, SOME is used in the following circumstances:
Generally, we use ANY in questions. 1. When we are offering something.
-Do you know any famous people? Would you like some coffee?
-Do you have any children? Do you want some sugar for your coffee?
2. When we are asking for something.
Could I have some salt, please?
Can I have some fries with that?
3. When we are suggesting something.
